Create new Replication Agent in AEM

Here we will talk about how we can setup a replication agent.

OOTB there are several replication agent available mentioned.

  • Default Agent Used for replicating from author to publish.

  • Dispatcher Flush This is used for managing the Dispatcher cache.

  • Reverse Replication Used for replicating from publish to author.

  • Static Agent This is an "Agent that stores a static representation of a node into the filesystem.".

Configuration parameters to setup Replication Agents

1. Go to the page https://<host-name>/miscadmin#/etc/replication/

2. Create new replication from the new button in the page.

3. Fill the setting information, and voila its done, this agent can be used for replication

I will add more details about the configuration below.

To configure replication of content for an additional publish instance you need to create, and configure, a new replication agent:

  • Go to URL: http://localhost:4502/miscadmin#/etc/replication/

  • Select Agents on author like below

Click on New.. To create new Replication agent like below

  • Double click on New agent on left panel to open it in new page then click Edit - the Agent Settings dialog will open - the Serialization Type is already defined as Default, this must remain so.

  • In the Settings tab:

  • Activate Enabled.

  • Enter a Description.

  • Set the Retry Delay to 60000.

  • Leave the Serialization Type as Default.

  • In the Transport tab:

  • Enter the required URI for the new publish instance; for example, http://localhost:4504/bin/receive.

  • Enter the site-specific user account used for replication.

  • You can configure other parameters as required.
